In this experiment , small objects are observed from a short distance. First, a collecting lens is used as a magnifier. Then, a microscope in its simplest form is assembled using two collecting lenses. The first lens, the objective, produces a real, magnified and inverted intermediate image. The second lens, the ocular (or eyepiece) is used as a magnifier to view this intermediate image
